Game Modes
There are a total of 5 different game modes in Nuclear Throne. These include Normal, Dailies, Weeklies, Hardmode and Co-Op. The website as a whole has a focus on Normal mode, but each of the modes mechanically work very similar.
Dailies and Weeklies are modes only available on Steam versions, Switch & PS4/Vita. They are both challenge runs where everyone shares a set seed based on their platform/version. The Steam version has online tracking via thronebutt, which is connected to the leaderboards directly. Seeds for Steam/Switch are community scouted here.
Hardmode is a much more difficult version of Normal that is unlocked by looping twice in any other mode. It mainly makes early game far more challenging with little changes content wise.
Co-op is a mode where 2 players can play together locally, and are locked to the same screen. The popular mod Nuclear Throne Together allows for up to 4 player online play.
All versions allow for achievements, though on weeklies specifically golden weapon unlocks are disabled. In other words these are 5 different ways to play the game to whatever suits the player. One achievement is tied to Dailies(Not Bad) and two achievements are tied to Hardmode(Way Of The Chicken & Good Riddance). There are no achievements tied to Weeklies or Co-Op.
Dailies guide including Weeklies, lists information for any seeded mechanics. Includes a sub-page for mutation mechanics.
- A separate guide for how mutation seeding works in full can be found here.
